So I'm sitting here having a couple of Dove Promise chocolates (which incedentally make me think of my sweet friend Julie for some reason.) And I thought I'd share the little messages I got. They fit my day perfectly. They are "Keep your promises" and "It's definately a bubble-bath day." Yes, I should and yes, it is.
Vern took the kids to his parents church this evening because two of his younger sisters are having some award night thing. I wanted to go support them, but stayed home with an icky headache. I must admit that I enjoyed having my dinner (egg rolls & rice) outside on the back porch & I'm liking my little treat and quiet computer time. I hope Vern comes home in time to play a little tonight with Julie & Kyle. Meanwhile I should go close my eyes and see if I can nap this headache away while it's still quiet.
Happy Sunday. :)

Your turn.
Whoever you are.
So I posted flower pics to share with "you"then posted a pic of Vern for me, then if I'm following a pattern it's your turn. Hmmmmmm... What to share?
How about a shot from a Spring wedding that makes me smile? Maybe it'll make you smile too.
This was at a golf course/country club reception. I love the slope of the land, and I love it when little ones are all dressed up. Such fun.
I'll share one more pic for good measure. How about a falls shot from the other day? I wasn't able to share any of those. This isn't of the bigger, cooler falls, but I like the water movement.
I'm still playing with the blogger photo upload stuff. Checking the quality for when you let them re-size. Click on the images to see 'em full size.
Have a happy day!

Testing 123
Can anybody hear me? Sorry, been listening to BNL all afternoon. I wanted to check out how it works to use blogger's photo hosting for on here. I just can't blog without at least the occasional picture. Poor Vern, I'm sure he'll be thrilled to see this. When I took this shot he said I was too close. LOL What's too close? There is such a thing? Like I said, he'll be thrilled. I just like his cute face and "are you done?" expression.
And yes, now I'm done. Now that I have an almost life-sized pic of Vern to look at while he's off working too hard.

Happy Spring
...from Vern & April
We went to Thanksgiving Point on Friday afternoon and had a blast taking pics. It was nice to spend some time alone, to enjoy the sunshine & play with the camera together. It had been awhile.
Some of my squirrely friends asked if I was going to share pictures. Well, of course! I'm running out of room/bandwith on my photobucket account, so I whittled it down to *ahem* one pic. (lololol) Really, this is not even a quarter of what I'd share if I could. Sadness. I even had to lower the quality to share this much. :(
If you know Vern & I then it's easy to tell which pics belong to whom. I left them mostly unedited. Besides, flowers are pretty without me fiddling with the shot, right? Just excuse the imperfections, and enjoy the Spring-i-ness. I even left it all tulip pics for this entry. (I was sad to lose Vern's cherub but will share it another day. Oh, and the waterfall shots, And, and, and...)
Sigh. All for another day.

Elijah is Safe
Our vacuum died. I knew it was coming, but it was a bummer nonetheless.
My kids don't seem to love the new chore of getting on their hands and knees and helping to pick up evey single crumb there is to find.
They'll appreciate it when we get a new vacuum.
At least for now Elijah's sweet little hands are safe. :)

Uh-oh
Elijah just hit something on my keyboard that made all of the type on my blog & the two others I had open really, really tiny. So tiny I can't read a thing. Any ideas on what he did and how I can fix it would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, and we are down here at this time of night because I gave up on trying to get the boy to sleep. He was crawling all over and doing everything but relaxing or staying in one spot. Why he's so awake and happy at this time of night, I have no idea. I figured that if he was going to keep us both awake instead of going to sleep that I should at least be able to have fun too.
So here I sit, hoping that at some point he'll decide it's okay to go to bed.

Easter Weekend
I have so many things I've been wanting to share here, but have been so busy that I'm falling behind.
Remember the worst mom award I gave myself awhile back? Injured baby, sad mommy? Well, he did it again. You see, there's this little plastic window on the top of our vacuum where you can view the brushes spinning below. For some reason my bigger kids thought it'd be fun to take it off and I didn't know it. Yep, Elijah managed to stick his hand in there. So here's a picture of him and Grandpa on Easter Weekend. Opposite hand, similar injury.
He did love tasting the goodies at the hunt in Grandma Pete's backyard. :)
KA had prom on Friday, and Kenyon asked me to take some pictures of him and Lottiana beforehand. It had started to rain, so we spent less than 10 minutes just grabbing some shots under our plum tree. I gave him his disk tonight. I hope they like 'em!
And now I'm off to curl up with a book in bed.

lol
Tonight is Kirsten's Easter program.
I considered just going and enjoying the performance instead of being the usual photography mom. I hear the gasps, I know - that just doesn't sound like me - but sometimes I do just like to enjoy life without trying to capture it. ( I swear... really... honest...)
Kirsten votes that I bring it. Maybe I will just limit myself?
Ha, who am I kidding.

Re-discovering my kitchen.
I used to like to cook.
I still like food more than I probably should, but haven't really spent much time in my kitchen in recent years. I think it's partly because I married a man who would rather have cold cereal or fast food most days. I threw my hands up in the air at some point early in our marriage and said "Why bother. He'd rather have cereal." (He's lazy when it comes to food - if it can be microwaved, poured into a bowl or handed to him through a drive through window with as little effort as possible it's his kind of food. Simple as that.)
I noticed something the other day though - he does appreciate it when I cook for him. The kids have always liked a good home-cooked meal, and I'm realizing that Vern does too. At least some days. There will always be pizza nights and even cold cereal nights for Vern, but it feels good to think that maybe I can rekindle my love for cooking and not have to eat it all by myself. If nothing else, my kiddos are always willing to help. Besides, Kirsten is the only person in the world that I know who likes her veggies as much as I do. :)

List Time
Oh man, time has been flying by. My poor blog has been neglected again. I have lots of things I want to share - I'm thinking a list will work...
~Elijah is walking. More than just a few steps at a time, it clicked for him this weekend. He's still crawling lots, but he's also walked across the room enough times to declare it official.
~I gave LV a buzz cut last week. It's so cute, but such short hair only serves to make him look a little older. Sigh.
~Kirsten is at a dress rehearsal today for her school's Easter performance on Thursday night. Can't wait to see her dance.
~Brandon passed his really hard math test last week. And he looks so awesome in his new suit. I'm going to go upstairs and take some pictures right now. :)
Okay, here's my walkin' babe:
Here's B (mr. squint) in his suit:

Stormy Wednesday
The weather here has been crazy! It's such a gray, stormy kind of day that it took effort to get out of my PJs. There's just too much to do to have two PJ days in a row. Bummer.
It's getting harder to take pictures of Elijah. He moves so fast and he either won't acknowledge me and the camera at all or he's coming right for the lens. (He loves all of the buttons.)
He's such a happy, active little guy and is finally big enough to roughhouse a little with the bigger kids. Oh boy, they get him going and he squeals so loud! (Just ask Julie & Kyle who have heard that squeal from Texas. lol) I have got to catch them in action - it's pretty funny unless I'm trying to concentrate on or hear anything else. It seems I've been saying this a lot lately "I'm glad you're all having so much fun. Now please go do it in a different room..."
Anyhow, on this (quiet) day I thought enlisting some help might work. Um, well, sort of. He's just not going to pose for me. It's okay. I just want to capture a little of him in pictures anyway. Success! Not as I'd planned, but fun nonethelss.
Oh, and thanks for the help Brandon!

Pajama Day
I slept horribly last night. I wound up coming back down here twice. I just couldn't get my brain to shut off & couldn't get comfortable.
Of course, I'm so tired today. Oh-my-goodness I am TIRED. I'm looking forward to joining Elijah in a nap at some point & I have no plans to get out of my pj's.
Have a great day!
