Patch 2.4

This entry could also be titled Fury of the Sunwell, Utter Craziness, Lag Issues, Dude that was my Kill or Hanging with a Gazillion Crazy Players.

Lucky me, I was among a handful of the first people on Draenor to go check out some of the new content released today in WoW. There was lag, there was crazy kill-stealing and before long there were way too many 70's stuffed onto that little isle. Within no time TnE (one of the big horde guilds on our server) had reportedly killed Kael'Thas and people were looking for tanks like crazy for the magister's terrace - the new 5 man dungeon. By the time any of my guildies were on and wanting to check out the instance I had to go, but I can't wait to check it out. There are certain particular friends I'd love to check it out with anyway. (Yeah, we've established that I'm a dork like that. :p) For the time being though, 3 of my 70's finished their dailies on the Isle of Quel'Danas and I got to have some fun exploring out there. I even took screenshots as I went. :)
If I were feeling better I'd log back on and play & explore some more, but with a kara run in an hour & a half, and hopefully that 5 man afterwards, I've been holding my babe & helping LV with his homework. Oh, and I should probably mention that playing WoW is not all that I did today - it's been absolutely gorgeous out, and I did some work in the front yard & played outside with Elijah for a chunk of the morning. Working on fixing that icky winter-pale thing. ;)

Poor Elijah, his latest cold hit full force yesterday. He had a sniffly, stuffy, feverish, cough-ridden birthday. =( By last night Kirsten was coughing too, and this morning I joined in on the fun. Hopefully this’ll be the last of the sickies for the season. =P

So yeah, I’ve been a little out of it. I haven’t been getting much “me” time, and what I do get when Ej naps is spent working out, so I’m missing my online friends big-time. The WoW withdrawals are there too. I haven’t done a daily in days. lol

Elijah's day.

Today is my babe's birthday. Three years old. I'm still in denial that he's not actually a baby anymore - he is my baby after all. You'd think that at 2 I'd have gotten over that - but he's still so soft and cuddly. I've been spoiled. :) He may stop fitting so nicely in my lap, but I hope he never gets tired of hugs 'n cuddles.Happy birthday Ej, I hope you have the most awesome day ever!

shhh... napping babe

I haven't posted a blog entry since Friday, so here I am wanting to blog and trying to decide whether or not I really have anything to say. I'm not sure that I do, but figure I at least can do a Tuesday meme or something. :p

Your morning: I actually had an early morning after a late night. Elijah woke up at 6 or so & Vern sent me to take care of him. He was mad that I'd crawled into bed late again, and I think me being the one to get up with Ej was supposed to be a punishment of sorts, but cuddle time with my babe never is. I kept him warm and we watched all of the early morning kiddie shows.
Your week: It's bound to be a busy week ahead with 2 birthdays. (LV will be 7 on the 13th & Ej will be 3 on the 16th.) Little Vern has parent teacher conferences on his birthday, and Kirsten's should be this week as well - I just haven't heard from her teacher yet.
Your dinner plans: I should really figure that out at some point, huh.
Your outfit: My white lace t-shirt & jeans. I'm about to change into shorts to work out though. :p
Your current music: I'm actually enjoying some quiet time right now. Don't even have the tv going.
Your mood: Um, hmmm... I'm ok. Fighting first thing this morning wasn't my idea of a good start to the day, but it's been quiet & I have my Ej - so I'm ok.
Your to-do list: I actually already folded the mountain of laundry, have done 2 loads since and settled Ej down for a nap, so once I hop on my treadmill in a few minutes here I'll be happy with my done list. Oh, and I guess that whole figuring dinner out. lol Oooh, I blogged too - that counts for something, right?
Your homepage: It's iGoogle. I have it all set up with the stuff I like to be able to check daily.
Your wish list: I'm easy. At the moment I could really go for a shake, a cookie or some form of chocolate. Yeah it's definitely an "I want chocolate" kind of day. :p
Outside of that, safe kiddos? A happy hubby? A new camera? A warm blanket? (It's cold down here and Ej is all comfy napping with my blanket.) A good kara run for Arinne tonight? (Leilah's group finished every boss in there this week. Go us! I'm sad I didn't get a screenshot of our first Illhoof downing though.) Um yeah, that must be the whole list - I'm back to thinking about chocolate.

There, that wasn't too painful. On the boring side maybe, but at least I checked in. :)

Spaztastic

If you knew me for the first 2/3 of my life, you’d think of me as a blonde. I was born blonde, and when it started going darker in my teens I started dying it. If you’ve only known me for the last 10 years, then you’d think of me with my naturally brown hair that I’ve embraced and really haven't messed with. When spring approaches I do have a tendency to get highlights but this year I’m itching to be blonde again. I just might do it. I really want to.

Spaz that I am I took a recent photo and played with my hair in photoshop to help me decide. lol I didn’t really get a very light color out of my playing, but that’s ok – since what I’m thinking of doing is a darker/medium blonde with lots of highlights.

Vern is a man with no opinion when it comes to me – he always just says, “do whatever you like” or “if you like it then I like it,” type stuff. My kiddos think I should go for it. Like I said, I really want to. If I get brave and post my spaztastic photoshop experiment could some of you blog peekers be brave too and post a reply for me? Pretty please. Just something along the lines of “go lighter!”, “go medium!” or “leave it alone!” And yes, feel free to call me a spaz. :pI know I shouldn’t have picked a photo with damp straggly hair, but it mostly worked. It was just recent and uploaded to my computer. New spaz moment lol – thinking I should have done something about the squinty eyes while I was in PS. Oh well, not like I haven't already shared it as-is. Just call me Squintz. :p

Oh yeah!

Woohoo! My Wednesday ended well. :) Our kara night was a rockin' fun one. We got Nightbane down! Now to do the same in the other group for Arinne too. :p I should also note that Vern came home happier than when he left this morning, and our fight had blown over by then. That's why I don't usually mention those things - stuff happens & hopefully you get over it and move on. I'm still really very tired, but Elijah worked his sweet magic as always. I love me those Ej cuddles. :)

Ej to the rescue

Drained. Torn. Broken. Tired. Emotionally exhausted.
Those words about sum up how I’m feeling today. I stayed up pretty much all night, and had the pleasure of a huge fight with Vern when he woke up this morning. Neither one of us was completely right, but over the years we’ve perfected the art of making each other feel bad. (Well, he’s not much for showing feelings period, so I shouldn’t speak for him – but I feel like crud.) As a former debater he has little room to accept that the other person’s point has any validity whatsoever, and as an emotional person I tend to end up just crying, angry and losing the ability to rationally make my point. So yeah, I never win our fights, even though I know he’s not fully right. And hopefully somewhere in there he recognized some truth on my part. Whether he feels it’s valid or not.
In any case, today is an “I want chocolate” kind of day, with none to be found and nobody to ask. I made Ej and I some hot pockets for lunch after taking LV to school, and am grateful it’s cold and he’s in a cuddly mood, because he’s about the only thing keeping me feeling remotely ok today.

Tuesday

Another chilly day has meant bliss for this mommy, who got to cuddle with Ej all afternoon. :) It's been fun, and has even made up for this morning. (I literally had to run LV to school with wet hair & no jacket. I swear it took hours for my lungs to recover from the cold. I haven't felt that cruddy since the silly doctors gave me a diuretic for my blood pressure. Hello?! You sure you wanna do that to an anemic person? It didn't go so well. :p Anyway - I'll wake up early enough to get my hair dry & wear more than a t-shirt on colder days from now on. Oh, and leave early enough that we're not running full speed to get there on time. Lesson learned. :p) Screenshot of winterspring in WoW, awesome quote from I don't know where. :p
