hooray!

Hooray for Maiah! She turned 3 weeks old yesterday.Hooray for me! I worked out today. Of course, the cookies I had this afternoon offsets that a little bit. :p
Hooray for Kirsten! She's been rollerblading to the middle school & back. Practicing for the fall. ;)
Hooray for Quiznos! Had me a tuscan turkey sandwich yesterday. Mmmmm...
Hooray for a slightly warmer day! I still need my blanket down here, but it's sunny outside. :)
Hooray for Saturday! Even though Vern's been at work all day. :p
Hooray for weekends, sleeping in, WoW time, cuddles and kisses. :)

the girly thing

Hola blogland!

I had a nice quiet Thursday. Spent it just hanging out with my kiddos. Maiah was so awake all day - I'm thinking she enjoyed chilling with all of us. (Kirsten & LV are off track for a few weeks. Just in time too - LV has a cold, which he passed onto Ej, who passed it on to me. Hooray?!) By mid-afternoon the boys were down here (on the computer & playstation of course) and Maiah had her one little nap of the day. (And I mean little. She slept for about 45 minutes - that was it until this evening. Craziness I tell you.) Kirsten & I played with the camera for a few minutes while she slept - did the girly thing & took pics of eachother. It's been forever since I last shared Kirsten pics. She's as beautiful as always. :) She's been awesome about letting me get out from behind the camera too, which is kinda fun sometimes.

lol

I found the perfect picture for today. :)His little expression fits so well. lol I do feel much better than I did when I first woke up this morning. Hooray for showers & cute kiddos. :) I might even log Leilah in and finish up that level.

:p

I woke up this morning still unhappy about a series of things that happened yesterday.
In an attempt to get over it I decided to spend some quality time with my babes today. I'm not sure if it's working yet though. lol this is how my day has gone...

~Spend most of the morning trying not to wake up since your babes are sleeping all snuggled and warm next to you.
~Hear the phone ringing somewhere in the house & finally give in & get out of bed.
~Climb back in bed awhile to hang out with a cuddly Elijah & a hungry Maiah.
~Change Maiah.
~Watch in horror as Maiah decides it's potty time mid-diaper change.
~Change Maiah again. This time include a new blanket since you managed to catch most everything with the old one.
~Feed & burp Maiah
~Change yourself. That was a LOT of spit up.
~Notice that it's after 1 in the afternoon. "So that's why I'm hungry!" :p Warm up the last of the stuffed crust pizza from yesterday.
~Deal with the stupid pains you get after eating when you wait too long. (I sincerely hate those sharp little pains. Should probably remember to eat more regularly then, huh.)
~Head downstairs to see about functioning for the day. Have to check in a few places online & maybe eventually play some WoW. Leilah's been almost 77 for days. <--slacker
~Help Elijah find a straw for his smoothie.
~Watch in horror as he spills said smoothie into Maiah's bassinet while trying to get the straw figured out.
~Yell "nonono... agh..."
~Reassure your sad little 3 year old that it's ok - accidents happen.
~Grab all of the mango-orange sodden blankets & get them into the washer with the urped on, peed on & blasted on stuff from earlier.
~Find new blankets for Maiah & one for yourself. (It's cold down here today.)
~Type batman & robin into youtube for Elijah.
~Change Maiah. No incidents this time! Yay!
~Enjoy holding a sweet little Maiah. Aww she seems hungry again.
~Sit down to blog while feeding a very sleepy looking babe & keeping an eye on the youtube cruisings of your 3 year old.
~Hey Brandon! It's 2:30 already?

Once my other kiddos start getting home from school "my day" kinda ends. Well, unless I manage to be awake for some me (and Maiah) time when everyone else goes to sleep at night. Brandon & Vern have been doing a bunch of late night raiding though, so I tend to be hanging out with my babes and falling asleep with them. With how much sleep I've been getting lately it's surprising how tired I am. I'm sure it's the being tired that makes it so that I'm having a hard time letting go of stupid little things. I think I need to practice not caring. :p Meanwhile, if this sweet little girl will let me lay her down, Brandon's going to watch her so that I can shower. Yay!!

Have a great one!

two weeks

Maiah celebrated turning 2 weeks old with her check-up this morning, the coolest gift ever (thank you Jason & Melissa!) & a whole lot of napping. Her check-up went well. She's grown a whole bunch. (She's 9 lbs & 21 1/2 inches long now!!) She had to have her bellybutton cauterized & didn't love the pokies for her pku, but survived the morning just fine. :pOnce we got home she spent most of the rest of the day sleeping. (So did I. What's up with that lately? :p) We both did manage to be awake for a quick little photo session. Thanks Lauren & Elijah for the help with those. (Lauren held her in front of the dresser for the last few, a Blizzard butt shot and took some shots with Ej & I. Elijah always takes a few shots and helps keep Maiah happy.)
I'm thinking we just need to get Vern & our young kiddos each a jinx shirt & we could do a family photo shoot in 'em. lol B has a couple & I have my priesty one. Now that's an awesome idea. We could use a new family pic. It's been years. :)

Have a great weekend! :)

7 good things

~Baby cuddles. mmmmm... I love Maiah's soft little head on my chest where I can kiss it anytime I want. :)
~Having a phone again. Even though it rings way too much. :p
~Julie & Kyle are playing WoW again. Yay!
~Brandon having no school today, since Maiah didn't sleep all morning or afternoon. He held her so I could shower & stuff. Thanks B!
~Naps. Maiah slept a lot yesterday & I didn't. Now she's all awake & I'm so needing some sleep. lol
~youtube. I had some old GnR & Aerosmith going earlier and Hinder is playing at the moment. Have to have something going when my kiddos watch qubo for hours at a time. :p
~Hot chocolate on a cold day. Thanks for making it Kirsten! Brrrr...

hangin' out

We had a quiet sort of weekend.
Brandon went to the Riverton-Bingham game and came home with no voice & was in desperate need of sleep. I think he had fun at Mo's. lol
I thought I was doing okay painwise & decided to drop the lortab & just do the 800s. Bad idea. Very bad. By last night I could barely walk across the family room from Vern's desk to mine. The hard part was that I was holding Maiah & Vern was so absorbed in his heroic that he didn't notice how long it took me or that I was crying. Kirsten ended up helping me make it. So yeah, I'm taking all of my pain meds again & the sleepy out-of-it-ness has returned. Sad thing is that it's only taking the edge off. :p
Kirsten did take a couple pics of my babes & I yesterday. Yay! Dorky as I may be, it's proof that I was here too. :p Thanks K. :)So yeah, we've just been hanging out this weekend. There's a family birthday thing this afternoon that Vern's taking the kiddos to. Maybe Maiah & I will have us a nice Sunday nap. :)

Have a great day! :)

I <3 Fridays!

Hooray for Fridays, pizza & Maiah being 1 week old!
I'm sure I can't claim to be as tired as I was at this point last week, but pretty close. :p I think we're adjusting pretty well though. I have Elijah set up with some geotrax on the front room table so he doesn't get too bored in the mornings when I'm showering, changing Maiah and such. He's been so happy and cute - he's such an awesome little helper. It's kinda fun first thing in the morning, feeding Maiah in my bed while watching the news - laying on my side facing her to nurse with Elijah cuddled up to my back with his arm around my waist & his little leg over mine. Well, it's fun until they both pass back out and I really really really need to use the bathroom. :p

I was looking through all of the pics from the last week and realizing there's only the one cruddy one of Maiah & I at the hospital. I need Kirsten or Brandon to help me remedy that this weekend. I love pics of people holding her - you get a much better idea of how little she is. Look at her hand compared to Vern's in the shot from this morning, or how little her face is compared to his in the b/w from the hospital. (love her expression there)Anyway, happy Friday blog readers! Hope everyone has a fantabulous weekend. :)

muahaha

I'm sure you all knew it was coming...

We're all spending so much time just looking at Maiah - taking her in & getting to know her every expression. Today I periodically grabbed the camera while doing just that. It was fun to try to capture some of her cuteness. You know me - there are a LOT of pictures. I grabbed a few favorites to share...That's a good big dose of Maiah, huh. ;) What can I say, it was an awake kind of day for her. I guess after sleeping so much yesterday she was ready to play. I was able to enjoy her smiles & cuddles all morning & afternoon (except for the little nap that was perfect for me to get showered) and then this evening instead of logging into WoW like I'd planned I ended up sizing stuff in photoshop. I still haven't calibrated this monitor but I figure these should at least be decent enough to share online. *crosses fingers*

Woohoo!!

I'm sitting here in front of my new monitor. My old crt was dying & I didn't trust it for photography stuff anymore so we got me a new lcd. Of course I don't have the calibration spyder in my hands yet, so my pics will continue to look wonky until this is calibrated. :p Makes me sad to see Maiah's pics look all splotchy & red, but fixing color issues on non-calibrated hardware is kinda like healing through a lag spike - it may kinda work, but not really. :p (people are gonna end up dead. lol)
We finally got a new home phone too. It's sitting here on my desk looking all pretty, but it isn't working yet either. (hmmm... I'm sensing a trend here... lol) Hopefully that'll be up and running soon. :)
It only took me 3 hours to make it down here today. I'm getting better at this being at home thing. We're even all clean, dressed & fed. Go me! Of course, I need to sneak back upstairs for a diaper & to take my meds so Maiah & I can be comfy while trying to function here this afternoon.
I was asked for more Maiah info, since we've pretty much just given her stats so far. She's a happy little one - she really doesn't cry much. I have to be moving way slow on something she's needing for her to get sad. She's alert and strong. (She could hold her head up from the get-go and for how tiny those little legs are they're holy moley strong.) Her features remind me most of Kirsten, but she's blonde & blue like Vern, Brandon & Elijah. And when I say she's tiny I mean it. Brandon's hand is longer than her legs, and even I can hold her along my forearm with her head in my hand. She weighed 7lbs 6oz when she was released on Sunday. Tiny I tell you. There was lots more I wanted to share, but I type even s l o w e r one-handed. :p I have some more hospital pics sized too, but please forgive the wonkiness. Flourescent & low-light pics would usually get color-corrected, but yeah. :p I so need my spyder. Poor Elijah has a runny nose this week, so he's not allowed to kiss her as much as he'd like. He's been reading to her instead today. He's so cute, constantly using the hand sanitizer stuff just so he can look at her. :)

Ok, so you know I couldn't resist. I still haven't gone through all of the pics from the hospital, but I downloaded a few that I took today right when we got home that were just so yummy straight out of camera that I thought I'd size & post 'em. So here she is...
Maiah 2 days old. :)

Home

Yay!! :)

First of all I've gotta say that was the wonkiest labor ever. :p
A story I'll tell another day. ;)
Second of all, I'm sorry I didn't post from the hospital - I was so sleepy, loopy & just plain out of it. :p We took bunches of pictures, and I just uploaded 'em all. I grabbed a couple from when she was about 2 hours old to share for now - during & after her first bath. Just some straight from the camera cutebabyness. :)
I have the sweetest pics of my kiddos meeting her that I'm dying to share. (Elijah was so excited & sweet - those are my favorite.) Those will just take some sifting through that I don't have time to do right now. Yeah, I know - sorry for the slacking, but I'll fix it asap. :) (Haven't eaten much today & just barely got my prescriptions - must go eat and resume the loopy comfiness that will hopefully help me sleep. :p)
lol Couldn't decide between color & b/w. It was an even tie with Brandon, Kirsten & Vern weighing in. :pAnyhow, I just wanted to check in and post a quick pic or 2 before aunt Robin explodes.
Thanks blog readers for checking in, commenting & just helping us to feel loved. :)
