just sharing some cuteness

It's been way too long since I last shared pics of Maiah. These ones are from yesterday. They're a little grainy & slightly underexposed - I had to bump the iso way up 'cuz it was kinda dark in my room and I don't have time to play with 'em just yet. She's adorable anyway. :)
In the one where I'm holding her you see the evidence of her latest trick - rolling off the bed. :p Thankfully she was just a little red & didn't bonk herself too hard or anything. Kirsten was right there, but yeah - this child is such a mover already. (Not fair seeing as she's not quite 5 months old yet. :p)

long weekend

We had a bunch of family stuff yesterday for memorial day weekend, but today has been a quiet, rainy kind of day complete with a nice long afternoon nap for Maiah & myself.

Tonight I let Brandon use my computer to go on the honor guard raid (his video card has been wigging out) and I've been watching movies & working out. (My kind of night!) I might do some farming on my hunter or level my rogue or warlock a bit tonight. I'm in a quiet kind of WoW mode - just wanting to do my own thing for a bit. I'm itching to get all my 70's to 80 & to farm so yeah - maybe I'll just start working on that stuff when I can't sleep at night. :) It's funny - I have different groups of people who know me on different toons - I'm debating killing my last standing alliance toon (and my very first 60 way back when) to start a new sneaky sneaky toon for when I really just want to be left alone. :p We shall see - I loved that pally, there are lots of good memories attached there.

Of course there are one or two people that are exempt from my sneaky sneaky mode. Really - all of my actual friends are. It's just that I've only been allowed to play so little for so long that I'm wanting some straight up play time. Reminds me of back when I first started my rogue & my personal guild - it was for exactly this reason. Arrie had so many tells from a zillion people I met through my high warlord run that it was insane & I wanted some quiet back. I guess I've come full circle to when I'd hide & farm all day and raid/run with friends a few times a week. Not that I have that kind of time again just yet, but yeah.

Anyway, that's not where I thought I was going with this. :p I just came down to check in and say I hope everyone's having a fabulous long weekend. Mine has been good with the exception of the lack of pudding, but weekends are kind of like that. :)

dinner in Vegas

We made it! (A day late, but safe at home.) That was a LOT of driving, but the kiddos were so awesome throughout - made for an enjoyable little trip.
Elijah was his usual youcantakemeanywhere-I'llamazeyouwithmyawesomebehavior&attitude self and Maiah was sweet & fun. She did so amazingly well all weekend. She must take after Elijah - we took her all sorts of places and she just smiled, played and slept a bunch. So awesome! I love my kiddos. :)

Well I am exhausted & have a bunch of work to do tomorrow, so I'm off to find my pillow. I'll share pics & stuff soon. Oh - I should explain the title of this entry before crashing huh. Pretty simple - dinner in Vegas yesterday was one of my most favorite things. (The Cheesecake Factory. Yum.) Vern was struggling with sleepiness by Mesquite though, so we opted for an extra night of sleep rather than trying to push through. Anyway, we had fun and our much longer than anticipated Vegas stop was totally worth it. :)

road trip

We're off to AZ for Brian's graduation. Hooray! I love road trips. :) I'll get to see the Grand Canyon on the way there & we'll drive through Vegas on the way back. Now that's a trip! lol Elijah's all excited & packed lots of geotrax. I'm hoping & praying that Maiah will be extra sleepy during the drive. :p I think Vern's happy just to be getting away for a couple of days.
I'll make sure I take some pics to share, and may even check in from the road. We shall see.

hola blogland

So my Mother's Day was uneventful. Kirsten did take this shot of me and my youngest kiddos, but Vern & Brandon never left their computer chairs. (I was laughing because Ej was saying cheesecheesecheese in my ear. lol And I have no idea what's up with the face Vernie's pulling. :p) I also helped Kirsten make her poster for being the student of the week at school, got things ready for Jeannette's bridals today and, um yeah. Just spent time with my kiddos. I did have fun talking to my mom last night. It was really good to talk to her - it's been forever. :)

I'm headed out the door for the photo shoot, but wanted to peek in and say hi. :) I'm wishing I had me some quiet time & some pudding, but instead I have a camera that's ready to go & a bride that's running a little late.

I love you mom!

This cute little woman is my mom.Her care, her love - her efforts are such a huge part of who I am today. She was a single mom with no backup - really without much of anything, but she poured 110% of all that she had and was into us 3 kids. I learned a lot from her, and love & respect her so much.

lol So it's 1:30 in the afternoon & Brandon just woke up - the last person in the house to do so. He came straight to me, gave me a hug & was the very first to wish me a happy mother's day. Go B! You just made my day. :)

crazy factor

Starting Monday my life is about to pick up some speed in the crazy factor department for awhile. Should be a fun, albeit crazy kind of month. I figured at least one more post before things start rolling was in order, and for Mothers' Day weekend I thought it'd be fitting to do this meme I found.

Today...

Today was Maiah's 4 month check-up & time for some more of Elijah's immunizations.
Maiah's been asleep since we've been home & Elijah's been playing on lego.com & enjoying the "brave boy" happy meal Vern got him.Maiah's checkup went well. She's 13 lbs. now & 24 1/2 inches long. (Still 70% for height & 25% for weight. Go Maiah! She's tall & skinny like her big sister.) I have to admit that I think it's crazy that she'll be 4 months old on the 9th. Time's a flyin'! We get to start introducing her to some rice cereal since she seems interested in food. (Probably a good thing, since her new biting habit has me wondering how many more months I'm going to be able to nurse her. I'm not super fond of being a chew toy. In her defense she has some upper teeth moving, though they're nowhere near surfacing yet.) Elijah did awesome with his pokies & has just one more appointment in 2 months to be all caught up. Hooray! And me today? Well I worked out before coming down here (go me!) and am enjoying the quiet that comes with kiddos being in school. I should log into WoW & warn my guild leader that if either of these kiddos react to their shots I won't be raiding tonight. :p
