Happy things

I was so ready to put my Spring banner up. It makes me smile. :)
Those are my happy, pretty flowers up there.
I was immediately asked about the family pics, so I put some on the sidebar. Hadn't rearranged things there in forever. While I was at it I played with making a little family slideshow for fun. My kiddos are just the cutest. <3
Kirsten & LV helped me choose the pics, and Elijah has been watching it over and over again. :)

Absolutely, positively

...BEAUTIFUL!Oh my goodness, it's sunny and 47 today. So Spring-like and just gorgeous. Elijah and I enjoyed some outside time, then when we came in I opened all the windows, cranked the music and started cleaning. I got my treadmill time & lower body day in before hitting the shower too. Go me! lol

just a random kind of post

I'm feeling a little out of it tonight. I'm not sure what to blame. It could be the 3 hours Elijah spent crying this morning because he wasn't feeling well. It could also be that I went and caught his cold as usual, or the medicine I took to battle my stuffy head. Maybe it's the trend of eating popcorn or cold cereal for my only meals for too many days in a row. It could be the crazy pace that I raced through all the stuff I needed to get done before tonight's kara run. Or possibly that as I was on my way there I had a friend wanting me to bail on my guild to keep him company, and I said no once again - making him mad and leaving me feeling guilty. Could be the news of yet another funeral for someone Vern cares about.
Maybe it's the lack of milkshakes.
At this point I think I'm going to blame the need for some sleep, since I can fix that once I'm done rambling on.

We did have a good kara run. It was the first time taking in a second team. With Lore & Brandon tanking & a few old Quorum friends joining us it was a quality first run. Even if I somehow stole Bull's A1 and stuck it somewhere on Leilah. :p I always play her so carefully, but something was up with me & dying tonight. Both oopses were on aoe pulls too. Figures.
Vern did great on heals - I was proud of him. It's kinda fun to have new people in the guild, and old quorum raiders are right about perfect in my book. Nothing better than introducing one quality group of players to another. (And even though I don't know them well at all, they're familiar enough faces that I'm not terrified like I would be with brand new people.)

Is he growing up or what?! It looks a little off online, but I'm too lazy to fix it. He's still adorable anyway. :D

The infomercials for local singles hotlines were driving me nutso & I had to turn off the tv. Just thought I'd throw that in there. Eeeeeeew.

I was described today as "quiet with a hint of mischievious." I think maybe I'll take it as a complement? I'm not sure, but yeah. I guess it's better than something like loud with a hint of somethingorother. (totally blanking lol) I've never been a huge fan of loud. Well, in people anyway. If it's good music that's a different story. Anyhow, I just always find it funny to hear how people see me. It's never exactly how you see yourself. Kind of like hearing your own voice & thinking it sounds slightly off. (Which incedentally kept happening tonight on vent. It was so weird & I kept asking Vern if I really sound like that. :p) Not that in either case the viewpoint is wrong. Just... different. Not sure why that popped into my head, or why I typed it out. lol I'm stealing precious minutes out of people lives with this stuff. Apologies.

Well, I wish I was awake enough to do something like a bubblebath after this crazy day. I think I'll settle for finding my pillow.

Too many memes

I feel like I've done way too many memes lately so for this Sunday post I think I'll just do some random catching up.

Kirsten & I have both had Avril Lavigne's I will be stuck in our heads all week. Today I caught Vern singing along. lol It's spreading. I wish she'd released a video for this, fan vids featuring lyrics by teens who can't spell abound. :pAnyway, yeah - blame Kirsten. I guess there's worse things she could get us all singing. She has better taste in music than Vern. lol

I'm maybe going dress shopping with Lauren again on Monday. I hope we have the same awesome luck with stores who don't mind me taking pictures as she tries stuff on. I wish I'd asked earlier last time, but am glad I was able to grab a few shots for her. I've always loved photographing her - she's just the cutest. One of these days I might play with some of these - edit and polish 'em for her to keep. (Gogo mall lighting & trying to look inconspicuous with my big honkin' camera!! I didn't even know how to use her cellphone cam - should figure those out for the stores that don't allow photos. :p)
Can't wait to see what dress she ends up choosing in the end - bridals this Spring are gonna be a blast. :)Here's Kori on the runway that same day. She didn't like the yellow & pink dress - but we thought she was adorable anyhow. :) It was a fun sort of challenge working in that lighting. Haven't done stage lights in awhile.

And now I' m off to find some food that isn't popcorn or m&ms. :p That's all I've had to eat since lunch yesterday & I'm getting kinda hungry. Of course I feel like I need to spend a week on my treadmill anyway, there's just been so much junk food of late. Blech.

Blame Carin

This could also be titled more stuff you didn’t wanna know about April. :p Carin tagged me to post 7 weird or random facts about myself. I've done this one before, but not in a long time. I figure it’ll be easy, I’m plenty weird.

For all of my talk about chocolate (which I do love) my favorite dessert isn’t remotely chocolaty. It’s key lime pie, followed closely by lemon meringue pie. Mmmm…

I have little sense of my own personal space. Get right in my face & I won’t likely flinch. It’s been pointed out to me that it’s a little dangerous at times that alarms don’t necessarily go off for me when people get too close or touch me. I can see that, but think that when it comes to friends & family I find comfort in having people close. :p

I have an unnatural obsession with this stuff. I’ve had soft lips all winter long to show for it. :) Seriously, yummy stuff.

I forgive easily, but also get hurt easily & will remember every detail of how you hurt my feelings 25 years from now. I won’t necessarily hold it against you, but I will remember. :p I remember kindnesses just as long and will return ‘em every chance possible.

I loved horror movies in high school – used to have weekend marathons with friends and had a Freddy Krueger poster above my bed, but don’t handle anything intense at all anymore. Not even some action flicks. I’m a total wuss. :p

I may drink way more diet Pepsi than any one person should consume per day, but I probably drink twice as much water.

Some people think I’m really shy, others think I come across as a snob – the truth is that I am terrified of people I don’t know and am reserved & uncomfortable (think virtually silent) until I build up a little trust in those around me. I must say it’s really annoying when I get the courage up to do stuff with people I don't know in WoW - I literally get shakey until it kicks in that nobody is going to bite or anything. I'm sure I've explained this one before, but I guess it's one I want people to understand. :p

I can't believe it's Sunday already! The weekend flew right by.
My kiddos are headed back on track tomorrow. Yay school!
We had a busy weekend, with the fashion show yesterday (I'd planned to share some of the shots, but haven't downloaded anything yet, so hopefully soon. :p) and getting ready for heading back to school. We're finally mostly over the crazy bout of sickies too. Just in time.
I'd be celebrating tonight by playing WoW, but the server was really wonky during our kara run tonight, so I'm just chillin with Ej at the moment. I'd told Damani I'd be back to hang out, so I do need to try to get back in once Ej's settled.
Meanwhile, I figured I'd do a Sunday meme. (I've been slacking in that tradition of late.)

So Brandon and I survived yesterday just fine. We each got 5 pokies - 3 immunizations, 1 blood draw and a tb test. Our arms are sore today, but really it wasn't so scary after all. I think I'm just emotional that we're finally going through the whole process, but with another step down I'm really excited. Go us!

I was able to talk to my mom last night too. (Thanks Robin!) It's always good to find out how my family's doing and hear their voices. It had been awhile, so it really was an awesome thing.

Well, happy Thursday blog readers! I need to go spend some quality time with my weights & my treadmill.

Just a little apprehensive...

Oh boy.
Going to the doctor does not usually make me nervous. I mean, I've had four babies - so what can they possibly do to me worth worrying about, right? Well, I'm just a little scared of the appointment I have for tomorrow.
Brandon & I both have to be examined by a government-approved doctor for the immigration stuff. I take care of myself, exercise & such so why worry? Because at some point in my life I lost my immunization records. :p I was told “don’t worry, we’ll take care of it.” Hooray?! Pokey pokey pokey...

Uh hunh

Well thank you mr. groundhog for officially announcing today that I will be remaining frozen-brrr-cold for 6 more weeks. I couldn't possibly have figured that out without your furry little help. lol

I think I'll celebrate tonight's snowstorm with some hot chocolate & some cuddles with my babe. Poor Elijah is still really stuffy, and I'm not feeling so hot myself.
