Yeah, I'm a Leo. It mostly fits. :)
I actually know quite a few Leos, and different aspects of the profile are definitely more dominant in some. I think I'm a tame version, but it's there. Rawr.

roughin' it

Last night was a rough one. 

Maiah's sharp little teeth and her love of biting killed the last of her bottle nipples, she's getting new teeth again & she was just sad/grumpy/past-the-point-of-tired/freaking out. I'd gone to bed at 11 with a headache, but woke up a couple hours later to the sad baby and tried to help Vern out. Some Tylenol, strawberry milk in a cup & lots of cuddles later she fell asleep in my arms, on my pillow & in my spot on the bed. Yeah, so even once she was asleep I had a rough night. I was afraid to move her though, for fear of making her scream again. :p I really hope that it was a one-night-only deal. My head is still pounding.

It's a beautiful, sunny morning though. I think a nap on a blanket in the yard sounds wonderful. :)

Thursday morning

We finally got our swamp cooler working! Of course, I celebrated by spending my morning laying in the sun. :p

The kiddos are loving playing in the sprinklers of late.I love watching them, but I dislike what our owie grass does to their poor little feet. :(

Our fridge broke the day after we had our little basement flood, so while we've been doing the downstairs carpets we've also been getting used to running out to the garage for anything cold/frozen. It's amazing what a little inconvenience will do when you aren't sure how hungry you are. I've learned that laziness wins out over "I want" a fair amount. 

I'm headed to the gym a little earlier today, since (hopefully) it's raid night. Have I gushed on here lately about how much I love my WoW friends? I always look forward to raid nights - especially times like lately, where it seems I never get to play outside of raids.

Maiah needs milk & Elijah wants a date. Hmmm... a fun little walk to the store before it gets too hot out sounds like a date, right?

Yeah, I really should get dressed and get going . With how tired & sore I am this morning (last night I mentioned the killer cardio session, but this morning I'm feeling the ab/core routine something fierce) I should try to get myself moving.

all night long - a Wednesday post

So yeah, I should be sleeping, but have been up talking to Kirsten, steam cleaning carpets, keeping warm in my blanket & uploading pics from today.

We're in the middle of stripping all of the red out of Kirsten's  hair because she wants to go blonde again. We knew the initial bleaching wouldn't get all of the red out and were totally right - but she liked her "flames" enough to want pictures before we bleach it again. It's just a lighter, more orangy red. With some blonde & some missed roots in there for good measure. Oh, and she was completely grumpy when we were out in the yard, but I took a few shots anyhow. So there.

I just wanted some pics because I woke up this morning feeling kind of pretty, then was a total girl & allowed all of my confidence to be shot out of me throughout the day -  I was hoping that the camera would be nice. It was nice enough I guess, since I'm gonna share. I at least didn't delete 'em all on sight - I'm learning to try to live with the stuff I don't love. Like splotchy skin, and the general fact that I'm not 20 anymore. :p After we took these pics I did go to the gym and totally kill it on the cardio. (Burned more calories than I'd eaten all day. Yay!)  That makes it so that I'm ending my day almost as happy as I started it. Would be even better with some pudding before bed, but hey - you can't have it all. :)

Oh, and I'm hoping that the awb on the camera did okay enough that these don't look horrid without color-correction going on. *crosses fingers*
Awww... There's the  icky munching again by blogger. :(
Munched pics are not my favorite. :p Oh well - I so need to find my pillow.

It's sunny & beautiful out there today - I spent my morning in the backyard with a blanket & my mp3 player. So nice!

I'm still going crazy not being able to fully play in PS. I can still size & sharpen stuff of course, but the whole color thing is driving me crazy.  I don't love blogging without pics, so you get one of K & I goofing off with the camera as always. We're planning on doing her hair again soon, so consider this her before picture...

Sorry for any color/muddy issues, and go blogger for making it look all crunchy at most sizes. Ick. We'll just keep it small. Yeah.

Still loving the gym - I'm all excited to go later today, and can still feel yesterday's workout. Yay!

Maiah has a cold or something - her nose is producing snot in overdrive at the moment. Ick, I know - but yeah. Poor baby.

Last night's raid was completely awesome! Go Dissension! We got all the way through everything we've done to date in ICC - which is up to Sindragosa. Pretty spectacular if you ask me. We even got through Putricide the first (messy) try. Now that's progress. :)

My super-crazy-ninja-Elijah-monkey wants to go on a date today. I think that can be arranged. :)

The top of my head is sunburnt - I keep moving my part & a new area gets pink each day when I walk to the gym. At this point it all hurts. I may just have to try to become a hat person. :p

Well, I'd better get back to making our grocery list & at some point today I should put some real clothes on. (Not sure I'm up to working out & grocery shopping in my bathing suit. :p)

the best intentions

I've been meaning to blog for days, but somehow this is the first time I've sat here feeling like I have time to do such things.

I took some pics of my kiddos over the weekend, but the only one I've sized for the web so far is this one...

Isn't she just the cutest thing? My sweet, crazy monkey babe. :)

And our Sunday raid was awesome! We finally got Professor Putricide down, and got the next one down too. Was so good! And then we hoped for a Tuesday raid, but not enough people could make it. Can't wait to go again tomorrow!

Well, I need to get walking to the gym. Just wanted to say we're alive & I'll try to do better at following through with my intentions to post here. :)

sleepy syndrome

I'm just so sleepy lately it's crazy. Last night for the third night in a row I crashed instead of playing, watching tv or whatever. Maybe it's the cool nights & the gym during the day, or maybe it's all these weeks of not being able to sleep finally catching up with me but yeah, went to bed early (for me) last night and would still be there if I could. :p 

Looking forward to raiding tonight though! 

And hopefully getting rid of this headache.

And making my family some banana-oreo pie.

And, and... yeah.

So Friday

It was a rainy & cold Friday. Brrrrr...
Worked out so hard today though. Was all gross and sweaty leaving the gym. Go me!
I ate probably a little more than I should have at Cafe Rio. Their rice, beans & cheese burrito with black beans & hot sauce smothered enchilada style is just so good though. Yeah. Just yummy.
I didn't get to play WoW or ddo tonight like I planned. I was tired after the gym so I vegged out and cuddled with Maiah instead. Maybe tomorrow at some point. I'm not sure how the day will pan out - we'd planned some fun at the park with Brian, Beth & their kiddos in town, but will have to relocate or something with this crazy Utah weather.
Kirsten & Brandon are both gone for the night. Both Vern's are asleep, but my little monkeys are going strong despite my efforts to convince them nighttime is for sleeping. Elijah's watching Go Diego Go since the older kids won't let him watch it when they're home and Maiah's full of her usual cuddles. If I have my way there will be sleep tonight... :p
Meanwhile, here I am just holding my babe, charging my mp3 player & checking in with blogland.
So not cool for a Friday night, huh? I have my fave blanket & some great company from my little monkeys though, so all is well. :)
Oooh, I promised I'd share this song here. It's been in my head for days (Thanks Kirsten!)  The first video makes me laugh, but the second one is, you know - official. ;) You've gotta see K's impression of the of the sorta cute nerd guy in the first vid. Such awesomeness!

another photo-less entry

Yeah, PS is still just not working right for me. Sorry! :p

So it's officially Summer I guess.  I laid out a little too long & got a little bit of a sunburn yesterday. It's all good though, only slight and only in areas that don't normally see the sun. :)

Oh, and I'm loving my new flip flops, am making myself a new anklet & deciding what color to put on my toes next. I have a really pretty blue nail polish that sounds about right.

Sadly though, I don't sleep well when it gets stuffy & we don't have our swamp cooler working yet. Not that I've been sleeping much anyway, but yeah. I've learned that the sleep meds don't help at all on nights when my brain doesn't shut down, but when I'm really really tired and am probably gonna sleep some anyway taking the meds helps me to sleep deep enough to not feel exhausted for a day or so.

I'm still loving the warm walking weather. I think I'm going to walk to the gym today just to get some sun & because then I get there all warmed up and ready to roll. It's like an hour long walk though, so it adds a chunk of time to the whole thing. Gonna do it anyway - I'm stubborn like that.

They just showed a yummy looking chicken salad recipe on the news. Now I'm all hungry. :p

Maiah's been all awesome, cuddly and mine-all-mine this morning. She's the bestest.

Vern's home from work today. Apparantly the inability to sleep is catchy - he ended up joining Lore and I for the tail end of some mass quest/daily doing in WoW. I just wanted to make my repair bill back from the raid, but I ended up having way more fun and got much more done than that. lol Like, all of Icecrown more. Lore rocks. :)

When I did sleep I dreamed I was in Hawaii or some tropical place again. I'm not sure why I keep ending up in these pretty places in my dreams, but must admit I'm kind of liking it. All I remember for sure is being on the beach and  enjoying some pudding. Yummy! :)

Brian and Beth are coming into town next weekend. It's been forever - should be fun. :)

The batteries in our battery backups for our computers are dying and they randomly start beeping throughout the day. It's driving me insane.

I'm on the Victoria's Secret mailing list and they have some seriously cute bathing suits going on this summer. I almost kinda want a new one. Again. :p

Well, this headache isn't getting any better from sitting here. Time to eat a little something, take some meds, drink some water and walk to the gym.

a Friday meme

This week I cried when... I had a sad dream. I thought too hard. During more than one movie. Yeah - a few more times than I should probably admit. :p
This week I laughed when... I laugh all of the time, you see Brandon & Spencer tease eachother all day most days while playing starcraft II, Maiah dances and laughs so cute while watching Monsters Inc. & Brandon has gotten awesome at reciting that movie. lol Good times. :)
This week was awesome when... Dissension raided! Having our whole group together & raiding is my favorite.
This week I enjoyed my... sunny days with Maiah and Elijah. Pretty weather makes for fun walks.
This week I went to... The gym a few times, the park a couple of times, and payless for some cute new flip flops.
This week was lovely because... I had some quality time with my kiddos.
This week was imperfect because... I still don't sleep very well, get too many headaches and have been a little emotional/oversensitive of late. :p
This week I had the best... walks. I am so loving the sunshine. I'm planning on walking to the gym today. Yay!

sunshine & stuff

...we had the most amazing weather today. It was so sunny & beautiful! I took my 2 littlest kiddos to the park for a picnic. Maiah loves the slide but is so not a fan of swings. Oh, she loves Arby's jr. roast beef sandwiches too. And apples. And  cinnamon teddy grahams. :p Ej and Maiah both got a little pink, but we had a blast. :)

...it was Kirsten's last day of school. She had a good day. :)

...Brandon's still sick. He had a fever earlier, has been sleeping lots and just generally feeling kind of crappy. Poor guy. :(

...I think I may finally be catching what my kiddos have been passing around. Not feeling fantabulous myself today. :p

...I didn't get to go to the gym all weekend, so I worked out extra hard last night. Makes for a very sore April, but that's such a good thing. :) Now if I could just get feeling better, lose this headache & figure out what to make for dinner. :p

...I'm not sure how to fix the photoshop color issue I've been having. I did try troubleshooting around it. (Not something I could or would even want to keep up, but yeah. I had to at least play a little to try to figure out exactly which colors are off and in what kinds of amounts.) These should look completely different from one another. I'm curious to see how they will look on the web. Maiah's pic I left completely alone in PS - it's straight from the camera. (It looked horrid in PS - all muddy & blue. Kinda looks normal here though from what I can see.) The one of me has been color-wonkified by photoshop. I tried correcting the blue cast slightly but it's still muddy and just off. At least on my screen. I wanna see it online on all of our computers. See if I can figure this thing out.

...yeah, not too excited to have my photoshop color management broken. If there's a default setting I could take it back to I'm not sure what it would be. I'm afraid to make it worse by tinkering with stuff I don't understand. I just really wish I knew what on earth happened. At first I thought it was a monitor setting that was off, but then I realized the web just looks extra bright and contrasty when ddo is open. That I can live with. Having PS colors be completely off I can't live with. :(

..ok, I really do need to figure out what's for dinner. And find out if I'm going to the gym tonight. And cuddle with Maiah.

a whole week?!

I can't believe it's been a whole week since I last blogged. We've had a nice case of sickies pass through our house (still dealing with that), a baptism, some sunshine, some rain and lots and lots of pizza.

Little Vern chose to be baptized on Saturday. It was a beautiful day, even though poor Vernie woke up feeling as sick as a dog and didn't feel any better until pretty much the next day. We ate a ton of pizza at the park in his honor while he tried to feel warm and was all nauseous and shaky. Fun huh? He was such a trooper though. And as cute as ever, of course. :)

I'd post more pictures, but my monitor and photoshop are not agreeing on colorspaces at the moment so working on color photographs is a completely wonky process. (Yeah, what looks fine everywhere else is not-so-pretty in photoshop. Of course, touching anything at all in PS makes it look wonky everywhere else. :p)

I'll try to be a better blogger this week! Hope everyone has a good one. :)
